Economy Patchwork Block & FPP Tutorial from Quiltmanufaktur

Also greift rein in eure Scrapkiste :-)

Und nie vergessen, den Quilt mit dem eigenen Label ...

Mallard Duck Mini Finish with Free Motion Mavericks from Quilting & Learning

Even without my favourite sewing machine, I was able to sew and quilt with the walking foot, my son's Mallard Duck mini. When I showed it to him, he said that he would find a spot for this one and the other two that I've made for him.

Finishing the Mallard Duck

As you saw in my Making a Mallard Duck Mini post, the foundation paper piecing went well. I always manage to make at least one piece that doesn't have enough selvage but I'm really good at problem solving

Making a Mallard Duck Mini from Quilting & Learning

About a year and a half ago, I promised my son a third mini for his apartment entrance. My timing is off since he’s moving in a few weeks to another apartment. I really hope that he’ll have somewhere to hang up, or even use these as mug rugs.

Foundation Paper Piecing a Mallard Duck

I’ve used a few of "Made by Marney" foundation paper piecing patterns. I particularly like her Woodland Animals series.

Mallard Duck mini - so far
I love this little guy. As you can see, I haven’t cropped it yet.

Since my Jag ...

Generations - Clara from easypatchwork

Hi there and thanks for joining us today. I would like to present the newest figure in the Generations Paper Dolls series featuring 6" x 12" historical foundation paper pieced figures spanning centuries of inspirational female heritage.

Clara is the newest figure in our series. She is one of my favorite figures with her wrapped and belted shawl. Her delicate hands are folded in front waiting as if she is reflecting on life and its tiny little challenges. She wears a full sized bonnet. This figure resemebles a 18th century figure, don't you agree?

Includes Two Versions of FPP ...

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by today and checking out the Generations of Friendship Quilt Layout featuring our new historical paper dolls series of figures. A couple of weeks ago, we showed our new quilt layout with six 6" x 12" quilt blocks in a circular layout set into a rectangle. The finished size is about 45" x 45" roughly.

Fabric Selection

As with most quilts, the desigsn are created with a simple, solid color scheme on the computer and later translated into fabric after many hours of fabric research. Our FPP paper dolls look best when using tone-on-tone or ...

Generations - a New Series of Historical Paper Dolls from easypatchwork

After several years of being a quilt and quilt block designer, I have developed a passion to create mix and matchable figures especially females. This love and desire stems from a childhood hobby of drawing barbie dolls with different outfits. Did you also design clothing for your dolls?

New Paper Dolls Series

After taking a very long break from quilting, designing, and sewing, I sat down one day and just "doodled" - designing on the computer. I wanted to see if I could create a new figure with a historial flair. After several hours of diligent changes, Quilter Grace was created ...

Photoshop Your Quilt into Different Quilts from Gefilte Quilt

My big idea was to create a building under construction, based on some of my New York City photos, especially of the building on the left.

To capture the sense of looking directly inside rooms, I drafted a foundation paper piecing patterns. It's constructed in strips. Here are the top portions of two of the strips.

And here's what it looked like, all sewn up. It didn't give as much of a sense of space as I'd hoped.

It's very small - most  pieces are an inch or less - so there was no obvious way to ...
